Can anyone tell me what else 2 things behind the grill are? I see them on a lot of modified WRX and STI.

they're horns, as in the type for making a "beep" sound

On the car in question, it's a popular modification, usually standard ones changed to "Hella supertones".

Horns? That's it, I thought they weren't performance air feeds for the rad or induction kit or something?

No they are horns, I have them on mine but I painted them black and not the usual chav red.
The standard Impreza horn sounds like a baby goat farting.

I once got chastised by another Impreza owner for having standard horns.

I only hear them once a year at the MOT

Yes horns, upgrade to a Nissan Micra's as they are louder and more masculine
