I have a 96 UK wagon turbo, and the fog light housing has rusted so badly that the light is now moving around. Is this a DIY fix, and if so where can I get the part from? I'm new to Subaru so recommendations for parts would be appreciated in general, as there are a few things that need replacing.

I got new stainless steel plates made up by someone off the RB5OC. I'm sure ther are others on forums that will make thwm up. Otherwise try import car parts, they can get hold of most oem stuff but cheaper than Subaru.

Mine rusted through and seized the bolts in the process, in my Bug Wagon. I just binned what was left of the U-shaped brackets and refitted the lights with stainless steel bolts, washers and nuts. Been like that for 2 years and 50k miles and haven't budged. So I'd say that the brackets are superfluous.

Thanks, maybe the bug eye is different as there is nothing on the lights to attach something to

Ah yes, different set up. Bug doesn't have the metal cup. Instead the cup is moulded into the plastic of the bumper. It has a metal bracket on the back that rusts.

After making a school-boy error when purchasing, I've got a complete new Prodrive/PIAA light upgrade kit with brackets for a Bugeye doing not a lot. Can't imagine it would be hard to modify the brackets for a Classic.
