Impreza WRC S5 replica
Discussion
Hi all
I am completely new to Subaru's but am considering buying a GC8 impreza STI coupe to possibly turn into a WRC S5 replica for fast road use. I probably going to be looking for a Type R STI with DCCD to use as the project base but not sure of the best places to search for GC8's for sale. Ideally I want a complete running car but would also consider project cars.
Therefore can anyone on here recommend the best places to find GC8's for sale and if anyone knows of any suppliers of WRC body kits or parts that would also be useful. Finally if there are any forums/resources that I should join then please let me know.
Any help much appreciated

What kind of budget do you have in mind for the Base model ?
Good condition type r's are fetching strong money these days

I guess £5-10k but not many for sale for me to get an idea of what I might expect. Am not bothered about high miles and cars that look a bit tatty as will probably strip the car down anyway but ideally would like a pretty stock carWhat kind of budget do you have in mind for the Base model ?

You'll need deep pockets. Might be easier to buy a group A / N car to start with!

Thanks for the link, I actually emailed Jamie, the builder from that thread earlier today. It's a really impressive build but also a great example of how a project can spiral out of control. I don't have any intentions of messing around with the interior to fit a rollcage and fia spec parts like Janie though. I simply want to enhance the external look of the car and tweak the suspension, brakes and engine. I'll hopefully get some advise from Jamie on where to start and costs involvedhttp://www.type-ra.com/subaru-forum/threads/v6-typ...

Be a shame to chop it up though.
