What happened to the engine? It's rare to hear of a total failure.

Indeed, first one I have had go other than a tired lpg one, and a few 2.5 s that have been run out of oil. and I have had hundreds of subarus. It was a fantastic full history 130k 05 one, just serviced, going great.... customer collected, got less than 3 miles..came back, said "smelt hot and lots of noise" we collected it, big ends noisy. I suspect she got the auto box in manual mode and drove it on the redline for those 3 miles, have seen plenty people go for a testdrive stuck in 1 st.... The mind boggles. It wasn't a convo I could have had so I refunded them. It might have just been a freak failure..but I cant quite believe it. ah well, it can go with the other "spraes cars" and live on in the form of parts if an engine doesn't turn up. smile

There is one here -

traynors.co.uk

The details are all incorrect, but the picture shows a H6 engine cover.

just double check if you have the non VVT version car and the engine is non VVT. they are not compatible if you have the VVT car. does the engine that is in the car now have plastic or metal intakes?
