I have recently purchased a new engine for my Subaru as mine has been clocking up her miles and want to turn her from a everyday car into something I can mess around with on track. So the standard naturally aspirated EJ20 won't do. So the Ej25 seemed the best option, now I have just got the job of rebuilding it and getting a few more horses out of the stock engine. The issue is I can't find any manuals, diagrams where everything goes so I don't want to strip it too much down before I leave my self in a hole, has anyone got any knowledge on rebuilding one of these engines and might be shed some light were I can find some diagrams or the best things I can do to get some more power out of that engine??

are you looking to put a turbo lump in a n/a car ? if i was building a track car i would get a 2 litre jdm lump , but if you are doing a turbo to a n/a car i would not go there , it's probably cheaper and easier to buy a scobby already set up properly engine conversions sound like a lot of cost and work

I have been scrolling the forums and so forth and no one has done it, that's what gave me the idea, I have all the wire harness, gearbox and so forth out the turbo car, just need to figure out the engine and what else I need to move across from the turbo car to make it work,

No one has done it for a reason. Why would you take an na engine and then try to make turbo when there is so much choice of turbo engines out there?

It is a turbo ej25 engine that I have to put in place of the non turbo ej20 that is coming out.

just buy a car already done , it won't be easy and it won't be cheap due to the mechincs electrics and parts involved

Right, get you now! Replacing the old na with a turbo. Wont you need the loom and ecu to go with it too? Do you have these that came with the engine?

It's already been done though. By Subaru for a start!

i see your dedication in doing it but the amount of work would put me off , plus the fact you can buy one already done

And a gearbox, diffs, upgraded brakes etc, its not just the engine, its the entire car that needs upgrading which is one of the reasons no one has done it, not the fact that its not possible but the cost out weights the benefits, then you have a modified car which will hammer you on the insurance front, far too much hassle v buying an STI or WRX, hence no one has BOTHERED doing it, its too expensive to do properly.

Sell your car or scrap it and buy an STI, stick with a 2ltr turbo if you want a good track car.
