I need a new O2 sensor as it's thrown the P0031 code up, however there are 2 denso applications listed, DOX0357 and DOX0306, the only visible difference being the length of the wire. FWIW The one on the car is an 0357. Any ideas as to which one is right as they both come back as being for the car, unless one has been superceded.

Is it also worth checking the voltage coming out of the harness before parting with the cash, is this ever an issue on these cars?.

  • Edit - the car is a type UK MY04 WRX PPP.

This one: http://www.importcarparts.co.uk/parts-info?id=4822...

As per here: http://opposedforces.com/parts/impreza/en_g11/type...

And yes, you can test the voltage across them but that won't tell you anything that you don't already know.

Hi,
Just an update, I finally got around to doing the Sensor today, very easy, just unplug, remove the front wheel, unclip the small plastic shroud on the inner wheelarch, attach relevant (o2 sensor) 22mm socket and remove.
The Denso part number for MY04 WRX's is DOX0306, cleared the fault and "we have a bingo".

Thanks again Teknopug & virtual beer for ya, I gave importcarparts a call, they gave me the Denso part number & I managed to shop around and get the sensor from Opie Oils for £74 delivered, (M3C as a 10% discount code, I'm sure M3 cutters won't mind). It even came "pre greased".

PH comes through yet again!.

That's a bit cheeky getting the info from ICP and then not buying it from them nono

Good that you got it sorted though.

yep you're right, I felt a bit guilty but a 25 quid saving was made, but I did buy a genuine fuel filter, air filter and oil filter from ICP along with a set of inner and outer CV boots (next on the list when the gearbox / diff oil is changed).

They are very helpful and knowledgable, the guy on the end of the phone was a self confessed Impreza geek so I'll be using them for the foreseeable future.
