I am on the final leg in sorting out my imported Forester, I just need to sort insurance out for it.

Can anyone recommend a company? I've tried Adrian Flux and there quote was astronomical, so I won't be using them!

It's a standard 2.5x Forester so nothing too exotic.

Thanks

MDMA .

ring and speak to Gary Moulson @ Keith Michaels. 0208 6427868. they are one of the main sponsor on Scoobynet and do great deals for Subaru owners.

Funnily enough I just left him a voicemail!

It's such a pain in the arse trying to get this car sorted, most insurers won't even consider it- it's a non turbo family car ffs!!!

never had any issue insuring my FSTI. not a mention of it being an import. have mine and the Legacy insured with Aviva at the moment. were the cheapest this year. always shop around every year so might be someone cheaper next year.

I'll give Aviva a try now, haven't hear back from Gary- tried his phone a number of times and just keep getting a voicemail message.

You'll get that with Gary and it's unlikely he'll call you back. I got hold of him by phoning a colleague and asking to be transferred through to him wink

However, in the end no-one could be Admiral even with mods and declared value. Next year will probably be a different story though!

Admiral are providing the best figure so far, I did get a really good quote from Zenith but had never dealt with them before. Apparently with them my no claims discount does not apply any more as it's over 2 years old, speaking to admiral this didn't matter and they were happy to accept it!

Quite strange, I'd never come across that rule before.

I know you wont believe me but try Carole Nash. They insure my Jap import MR2 Supercharger which is difficult normally as was never sold in this country and most insurers just apply ridiculous premiums.

Carole Nash did a brilliant deal a few years ago and I still only pay buttons. It is on a classic car policy with limited miles but it suits my situation. Never had any problems but have never made a claim so I cannot vouch for that element.

Thanks, I'll give them a call now. Can't get the registration and tax documents sent until it's insured, it's just one hurdle after another!!!

All because I fell in love with a daft car whilst travelling, I don't think I will ever learn.

I gave up after two weeks trying to get hold of garry,

Sky and mark Richards brokers are always fairly competitive for my s/tb import

Chris Knott did the best quote on my imported Legacy. Very helpful on the phone too.

I use APlan for both my cars as they are modded. Good price. Gave up trying Gary Moulson as I could never get through
