It's ugly and the auto box is a bit poo but I like it. Immaculate 56 plate 7 seater on 82k, ex-demo plus one owner with every toy Subaru did, for £4k.

I was only looking because I felt I ought to and one came up close by. The only issue is the stainless exhaust is a bit boomy and really doesn't suit the car, particularly the way the auto holds revs.

About the only model of Subaru ( that and the Levorg) I haven't owned, however I have had an Outback H6 so can appreciate that wonderful engine. Enjoy, any photos ?

No pictures, it really is ugly! Although I was looking at a Ford Kuga today and trying to work out why it looks better despite being quite similar.

The engine is great, as I'm working g out how to get round the auto box.

I remember reading somewhere that Tribeca owners were recommended to keep the autobox in sport mode. I find it changes up too early to improve fuel consumption no doubt, but makes the car feel sluggish, unless you are pressing on.

Had a Tribeca, very underrated car, loads of room and a great (if thirsty) engine. Gearbox is of its time but run it in sport mode sorts out the constant shuffling you get in normal mode.

Enjoy smile

Sport is fine until you press the accelerator 1mm too far and it drops a gear and launches itself at the horizon with a flat 6 wail. I may have heavy feet but it seems that sensitive. The sports(!) exhaust doesn't help.

Along our lane I'm tending to stick it in 3rd.

Ok, 1 week in and I'm getting used to it. First tank of fuel has gone far too quickly but I have been enjoying the acceleration (Don't laugh, I'm coming from a Discovery...)

Only issue is the lack of torque. On a fairly well laden trip up the motorway it struggled to maintain speed up hills without changing down, sometimes to third. If I lock it into fifth and push open the throttle it slows on the gentlest of hills.

It isn't helped by the exhaust making it so obvious.
