Hi folks,

my father has recently bought a 2.0 litre subaru outback diesel. I am posting to get some advice from you all regarding the turbo. When the revs climb and the turbo kicks in it seems to pull unevenly. So it feels like it wants to accelerate and then slows down then pulls then slows and pulls and slows.

this doesnt seem natural (no pun intended) but I thought it would be a lot more smooth ?

Just wondering if anyone could give me some advice regarding this and perhaps some ideas as to what could be causing it ?

thanks very much,

jamie

Thanks folks, appreciate the replies.

The car is a manual and it's a 58 plate so 8 years old. Think it's done just over 100k miles.

Thanks very much again,

Jamie

MAF sensor, boost control systems, diesel pump pressure.....

Best thing to do is get it logged and see what the sensors are all saying. It's easy enough to do yourself, the trick is finding the right cable in a sea of cheap ones!

If not, I think Ecutek support that engine so you could see if a dealer would log it for you (or advise). Where abouts are you?
