track day sump / baffle question

Hi All.
Looking to do a few more track days with my classic.
Not loads but a few a year at goodwood, thruxton, coombe etc (dB permitting)
I am looking into sump options and its a bit of a minefield on Scoobynet and NASIOC.
I can not afford a dry sump option which is the only fully protective way to go as money is an issue at the mo (wifes off on maternity)
So the options I am considering are:
Baffled sump such AS performance (Alyn) Group N clubman sump £150.

As said I know it will not fully protect but hopefully it will help to minimise surge etc.

If you are using a decent sticky tyre you will need a full baffled sump, Subaru's suffer on long fast corners that generate a decent g force, oil stays in the head due to its boxer design, the baffle trays do to some extent stop the oil moving into the heads from the sump, but also the oil returning from the heads is also very hindered.
The RCM baffled sump works well, have fitted quite a few to my builds & about as good as they come, a bit pricey, as said a full dry sump system is the only real answer, especially if your running slick tyres.

+1 with what engine builder recommended.Took v5 type r on first trackday several years ago(Bedford)and blew bottom end.one engine rebuild later with RCM sump and 9 trackdays later(snett,rocking ham and brands),the car hasn't missed a beat.oh and I use medium/soft Yoko ad08s.Spend the money,worth it in the end.

I'm currently on Prada spec 2 and this is what I will be running at thruxton IF i do the track day but will be swapping to Nankang NS2R for next year after seeing their results on a recent trip to the ring.
I have an oil pressure gauge that I will be monitoring but think due to current funds my options are these:
option 1 - get the newer 2.5/sti sump which has a better design to keep oil near the pick up and have this modified by AS performance (alyn) and run an extra 1/2 litre oil. combine this with the killer b baffle plate to help minimise blow by into the heads. fit an oil catch can. Total approx £200-250
Do the track day whilst monitoring my oil presure and catch can levels.
option 2 - not do track day. Save up for a full baffled sump and wait until next year to track (wife on maternity until end Oct so were down on funds).
I only own the car for a bit of cheap fast road fun and on the face of it (before research )though it would be a fun little track car due too some of its other mods but am no rethinking.

Two corners I know in the UK are notorious for starving oil: Gerrard's at Mallory and Coram at Snetterton - both very long and very fast.
I just run an RCM baffle in mine in combination with a pressure gauge. The only thing I'd say is that putting the RCM/Cosworth style plate on with the engine in place is an utter utter mother of a job. It's really supposed to be done with the engine out and tipped upside-down. Also - don't get tempted to use a gasket with the regular sump. Just stick to RTV as per original spec.
To be honest, I'm glad it's in there as my local circuit is Snetterton and it's one less thing to think about, but I've run into a more obvious list of things that the new age WRX doesn't like about doing track days!
