My 2007 WRX is leaking a bit of oil onto the exhaust - pretty sure it's the rocket cover gasket as there a burnt oil smell every time I get out of the car - but there aren't any oil patches on my drive (yet). Have booked the car in for service in the near future - but wondering how long you can drive like this for e.g. will it manage another 1.5k without problems?

Think it will be fine for another 1.5k. My RB5 had a leak from the rocker gasket, left it for ages, it's only the smell that was worrying.

Not much of a job to fix

There a few tips to follow, so if you decide to have a go yourself, be sure to get those before

I have booked the car in with a specialist - just realised I need to do a few long journeys in between hence concern over leak.

All I will says is use genuine gaskets only.
Having used alternatives a couple of times they always leak. It's a fiddly job but easy enough
