A leaking rear Tein shock and a cut in the tyre , can't buy the specific shocks any more so new all round at a bit over 500£ , can't get the brand of tyre here so that's 260 for four , not a good day , tyres had loads of tread on them so that's a waste , only good news I went from a 215/45/17 to 225/45/17.. B......s

So tyres can go on eBay , I wonder if it's worth refurbing a shock and wonder if they would fit on the fsti as that was what I was expecting needs shocks

£500 would be a luxury. I paid that for a lambda sensor for mine for the MOT -the duff sensor also killed the Cataclysmic converter so i had to 'rent' one and have it welded in for the MOT.
Oh and the rear brakes needed new discs and pads.
£1,700 for an MOT pass......

Teins are crap for UK roads anyway so its probably done you a favour. There are always loads of owners 'upgrading' to a set of £500 coilovers so just pick up some standard STi suspension and enjoy a car that handles better.

I have the basic road teins , they are actually very good for there price , the fsti is next for a set , I've never driven a car so glued to the road before , plus at 505 £ I think it's a reasonable price , the set coming off have been on for 10 years and only let down by one leaky shock , the rest of them are fine

might have been worthwhile sending the shock off to GAZ in Basildon. They remade 2 fronts on my Lancer Turbo for 116 quid inc delivery to a better spec than original.

I'm looking to get the shock repaired I believe the suspension from a 2001 Sti jdm wagon would fit a 2004 fsti , when I did the shocks I only did the rear pair and I only need one re building so fingers crossed they will fit the fsti , any one know if they will fit ?

Gaz unfortunately don't rebuild Tein shocks I don't know about others

Yep. I had them on my 2005 STi. They were fun for a while, but then I got sick of throwing fizzy drinks all over myself every time I drove over a pothole.

I have the basic teins on my Impreza they are a very good set up and don't show bumps as much as others I have driven plus at only 505£ not a bad price

Nothing to add, but interested in seeing how easily/well Impreza coilovers go on a FSTI if that happens

The suspension , apart from maybe or maybe not changing top mounts it all appears it is the same , I found out how much it was to get one shock rebuilt it was a lot , I have bought some second hand bc coilovers which I put on today , I'm sure the Impreza coilovers would have been fine, I now have a not too bad set of fsti suspension sitting around , it looks better now it's off the fsti , I'm hoping the handling is even better now i wanted to make it handle more impreza like , I've lowered the fsti buy about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch
