SF5 sti2m v SG5 XT plus what parts?

Well the question speaks for its self.
Looking between the two, STI2m is very rare and would keep its value (6500 ish) but doesn't have any options with it, no heated seats, no satnav, no sunroof. was there any other models that had more bits on it? maybe a sf5 sti?
Both do about the same MPG and i would use them both as a daily, 15mile trip a day, with the occasional 200-400mile motorway trip. But the ideas in the pipe line, roadtrip around Scandinavia.
id like to keep the sti2m quite standard, no huge upgrades, but the xt has so much potential id have to change bits and pieces. but if it was a SF5 sti id modify away! this begs the question about what parts are available for these cars, what parts fit on which models and what are good upgrade paths to follow.
here is a few pics of what id like the finished car to look like, in different forms with the wine red a personal favorite. If anyone could tell me the model that would help!

Ok one in the 1st picture is a sg9 xt by the looks of things, good base to start from if your looking for all the comforts, more modern looks etc, middle pic is sf5 s/tb with a kit & wheels.
The final one looks to be an sf5 type2 sti, (majority of these were auto's I beleive)
90% of the same year impreza parts will bolt on, spring rates at the rear will be different due to a little extra weight and exhaust lengths differ,
With regards to what to start with, personal preference, the sf is not as comfy as the sg in my opinion, less room and the early ones are nearly 20 years old now, the sf hs the ej20, depending on year and location the sg will have the ej25
The sg has more ground clearance from stock.
Tuning wise they are all easily mappable, older cars would require a standalone ecu such as apexi or similar or a daughter board grafting onto the ecu, enduring solutions offer these with the ability to have twin maps, and other features,
Newer cars will be ecutek mappable or other flashable software,
The sf's will have td04 's (jdm) or tf03 (eudm) and sg use the vf series turbos
Panel filter sports cat or decat and a map will see healthy gains on either, just a question on how much money you want to throw at it,
Stock boxes are good for up to 330-350 on the sf not sure if the sg has the slightly stronger new age boxes,
If you wanted to push for more then a 6 speed and associated bits from an sti impreza will bolt up
Brakes are a bit poor on the early sf 2 pots up front, my99 onwards used the 4pots from the wrx

personally, the early STI type foresters don't look right. the body kit is too big for them. the later ones look so much better. more in proportion, if you know what I mean.
trying to find a nice early one is always going to be a compromise. if budget is a consideration, why not look at an impreza wagon. will have more features on it that you are looking for. but tbh, is cruise / sat nav a deal breaker ?
