I'm after an impreza sti but nowt is cropping up, so I have been thinking about importing. I have a budget of around 8ish, but would prefer to spend 6500.

With this budget would I be able to import a bug/blob with bimta of 4/4.5?

More questions, but thought I would ask this first!

You are better off keeping searching in the uk , so when it comes to buying a car you can look at it , I paid 6700 for an sti ver 7 , mileage was slightly high at 83 k miles but car is very clean , there are a number of importers there is hurst in Bedford I not sure where you are based , general import costs seem to be see what you like and add a third of its cost

your problem is your budget.
You'd struggle to find even a UK STI for <8k let alone an import.

Hate to say it, but everyone is right. You won't get a good newage car for the money. You might find a bug or higher milage blob for 8ish, but with these cars condition is everything. Remember that you're buying something that's 10 years old or more, so the way it's been looked after matters most of all.

Put the money aside, and add to it little by little. 10k is where you really have the pick of the litter at the moment it seems.

It's what I'm doing when I'm not going daft with by blob WRX. Alcatek ecu and brembos anyone? I have no sense...
