Outback (2008-) specs
Discussion
Hi,
I'm thinking of buying a 2008 2.0D R Outback as a winter runaround. It seems to be quite well specc'd...sat nav, leather, 17" alloys etc - but I think R is the base model (?). I've done loads of google searching but can't find out what the difference is between the R, RE and REn specs - please could someone advise?
Thanks

The spec would be the least of my worries with a Gen 4 diesel Outback. There are lots of horror stories of chocolate cranks and clutches. The petrol engines are bullet proof but a bit thirsty.
Yeah, I did read some scare stories! It's got FSH and just had cam chain tensioners and new turbo. At 100k miles I was gambling that any crank issues would've surfaced by now. Gassing Station | Subaru | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
