cv joint help on 98 sti

Got a 98 sti import with a newer cars gearbox diff and driveshafts, the front cv joints are on the way out so taken the driveshafts off to replace them but bought cv joint for original 98 model which are completly diffrent its ball and race whereas the ones on there have three knuckles im trying to find out which car they may be from but cant find much on google and such any help greatly appreciated

What year car is the gearbox off? As normally you can just re use your original shafts for the front, probably be easier to get a pair of front MY98 shafts and fit those

I don't know and neither does the Previous owner i did buy a set of 98 sti shafts but were completly diffrent originals being ball and race and ones on my car being 3 knuckles sohaven't installed
