Morning,

First time here, I need help.

For the last 2 weeks when I start my Scooby (05 plate) the alarm whooped once and now the car wont start. When I try all the dash lights are working but nothing, as if the immobiliser is on. When I turn the key back to take it out the alarm whoops once.

Before I phone an auto electrician out could this be a battery fault?

Any ideas guys?

Battery in the key, try your spare if you have one, or replace batteries.

Thanks for the reply.

Just tried the spare fob and it's the same.

Had you been using it, or had it been in a drawer? Could be flat too. The buttons can stick under the rubber bit or go stiff, use something under your finger to exert more pressure on the buttons, failing all that stick new batteries in the keys, sometimes they lose their coding , there is a way to rcode them using the keypad, im sure google will bring up details, you can also bypass immobiliser with keypad if you can find the code. Its a metalic sticker and can be stuck in various places on the car or service book., this will allow you to drive it to a dealer for a recode. I have had issues with the alarm control box on one and subaru fitted anew one which sorted the problem. Good luck!

The car battery is flat not the remote one! The beep from the alarm when starting is supposed to be a warning that the battery voltage has dropped to a low level. Can you charge it up?

It was the car battery. Got AA to come out and start it, then went to a local car spares shop and got a new one. AA guy followed me and fitted it.
