Ended up buying a wrx yesterday, not a planned purchase by any means but had a drive and it was great fun!

For me personally it will be better than an sti since I wanted something with a slightly softer ride, not too hardcore etc..

Question for the impreza owners here - this is a '10 car, is it possible to get an extended warranty from Subaru? If not do you think its worth getting an aftermarket one? Car has done 22k btw

did you chop in the abarth?

Not au fait with potential impreza 2.5 issues, does the warranty mean you need to go to subaru dealer for service/issues?

hope you have fun with it, cant say I have seen a red one before

Yes traded in the abarth - only had it 3 weeks. Great fun to drive for the first 10 min then tbh just got on my nerves, and too small and cramped inside.

So far as I'm aware the wrx won't be under warranty anymore, I read that subaru made warranties 5 yrs but think that's only on cars sold after 12/13 or thereabouts. So the 3 yrs on this car will have expired.

Always fancied a subaru since my youth so it's one I can tick off the list!

Ah just re read your 1st post - i thought you said an extended subaru warranty was available - my bad!

I got my 7 year old outback from a main dealer and so it came with subaru used warranty - its just expired without a claim, I haven-t bothered to replace.

not sure I would bother with service at the min dealer in newcastle

Warranties are a waste. Just put some money aside in case the HG or ringlands go.

Imagine you'd have got a 6 month warrenty for free on something that new.

I've got a Forester 2.5XT with the same engine and has been faultless for 100k miles. As far as I know, Ringland may only ever be an issue on Sti's before the remap or any 2.5 that's had a big tune up
