Insuring a WRX with Prodrive Pack
Discussion
Any recommendations? I just spent half an hour on the phone to my current insurers (Admiral) trying to explain what the PPP was, only for them to decide they can't insure it because "the intercooler has been modified" - despite me politely explaining many times that the intercooler is completely standard and the only difference is a bit of silicon pipe
The usual goconfusethemarket.com lot aren't inspiring much confidence, so before I start trawling through are there any companies you could recommend?
Thanks in advance

I use a great broker called gsi insurance to insure my PPP sti. I made sure they knew about the PPP & they checked it out with their insurers. The good news is they will get you insured & As it's a standard factory fitted upgrade it really makes no difference to the price of the insurance as it doesn't freak the insurers out!
The companies based in Kent but do most of their dealings over the phone. Nice people too.

Ring Keith Michaels and ask for Gary Moulson. He knows all about Japanese performance cars, namely the impreza.
I was going to suggest this, it seems that all of Scoobynet uses him. I'm going to call them when renewal time comes, anyone know what the best way to add track day cover is? Another vote for Sky insurance. I had my WRX PPP insured with them, they beat Gary at Keith Michaels quote and great customer service too. Whilst most of scoobynet will recommend Gary M, he can be a nightmare to get hold of and I always felt it was like speaking to a mate rather than a professional offering a service, not a problem for some I guess.
Yeah, another vote here for A-Plan's Specialist Schemes branch at Thatcham. Very knowledgeable people on the end of the phone, and should have no problem finding a suitable policy. I have had unmodified and modified GT-FOUR's, Imprezza's and currently a Litchfield Forester STi with them.

I insure my Classic UK Turbo PPP with Elephant (sister company) by telling them it's a standard car bar a dealer-fit "chip" and exhaust. I don't think a bit of silicone pipe really matters...The usual goconfusethemarket.com lot aren't inspiring much confidence, so before I start trawling through are there any companies you could recommend?
