impreza p1 aircon
Discussion
Hi there I just got my air con sorted a few weeks ago I had been waiting in a good air con pump got a real good one for good money. Air con was checked and no leaks showing and was refilled was really cold for a week then I went on holidays for a week got into car yesterday air con wasn't cold at all . thoughts please condenser, leak etc???
I recently had my aircon topped up at a decent air con specialist as nothing happened when the a/c button was pressed it only lit up. I explained that before I bought the car it had been stood a very long time , months and months.
So he connected it to his machine and it said the system was totally empty and did the leak test which it passed. The machine filled it up with 500g of gas and it worked perfectly for about two weeks. The pump then got louder and the air con really only worked on one side of the car.
I contacted him and he said it must have a very small leak in the system which the leak test
couldn't pick up on and said to bring it back for diagnostics. The charge was a bit high for me so I thought I would buy some of the cans they sell at a major car parts retailer which are on three for two as someone on a BMW forum said it had successfully sealed up a small hole in the compressor which would have been a couple of for grand to fix at BMW. There were a few other positive reviews of the stuff too.
So it cost me £70 for two cans and a valve . My car has had a full can in it and three weeks down its still working , I topped up the Mrs's and her dads with the other. Also you get £10.00 back for each empty can you take back and have a pressure checker for next time.
Not sure if it would help you but you never know.
Good Luck
