impreza p1 problems
Discussion
Bought a p1 a few months ago and having problem with car. It pulls to the side when accelerating and when decelerating. Have tried lots of things. New hub shock and suspension arm drivers side as it was damaged. Got car benched and cambers all set everything spot on that way steering a bit light as well but generally a bit snaky anyone similar or know what I could check next thanks
Hmm what kind of damage?
I would tend to replace things in pairs by axle.
Checked the simple stuff like wheel buckling, tyre pressure, tread etc?
Might be worth signing up to the P1 Owners Club and asking there, lots of knowledgable chaps there

Just discovered someone at sum stage has put a map import gearbox in my car and mechanic has said its not rite and the diff ratios are not matching up causing car to pull to one side he's checking ratios this week so prob looking for a p1 gearbox or rear diff or maybe both . anyone know of one for sale? Trying to sourse one beforehand thanks
Jeepers, that is replacing a good part of the whole car!
So you have pretty much ruled out some brake resistance on one side as you have replaced a lot of the brake components (in any case that would have lessened on acceleration as the resistance would have diminished relative to the acceleration force )
Static Chassis misalignment should show up just freewheeling.
Have they looked at wheel setback front and rear, thrust and are the kingpin angles the same for both sides?
The only other thing might be that the replacement lower front suspension arm had different caster which is giving slightly different camber changes on acceleration. In any case this will be shown in the Kingpin angle from the alignment.
