Hi guys, just looking for a bit of advice if anyone has can help.

I'm going to look at a few different Legacy Wagons with a view to buying and was wondering if anyone knows what I should be checking for in general?

They are all 2.0 GT Spec B JDM cars from between 2003-5. The one that has really caught my eye is a 2003 model that's done 90,000kms (55,000 miles). Is there anything that it should have had done to it or anything that will need doing soon? The dealer will change the timing belt, brake pads, oil, filters etc... as part of the deal.

If anyone can help, I'd be very grateful, thanks!

I've got a 2005 2.0GT, single turbo version, with non-GTB spec suspension. The to-look-for list is quite simple - evidence of regular servicing to at least handbook frequency, timing belts get changed here in Australia every 100,000kms - no idea about Jap/UK spec. Even tyre wear and clean tracking - the AWD system can be sensitive. Otherwise its the usual stuff to look for on any 11 year old car - new belts, oil, clutch, brakes, tyres are all a bonus if you can get them. Clutch is a 5-6 hour job in the book. Interiors wear well - mine looks half its age. If it has the integrated CD-changer in the dash that can be a pain - they're known for skipping CDs and not a standard DIN fitting.

No idea about rust - just don't see it over here.

I think the GTBs in the UK are all twin turbo versions, and I think GravelBen has one in NZ - might be worth checking out other topics in the Subaru and NZ forums.
