New High Downforce Wagon Spoiler...!
Discussion
Have had a great day today. Drove to Devon and back as collected an ex-works hardtop for the MG V8 project. However, completely cocked-up with the expectation that the hardtop would fit inside the car; bugger! So, in fine Snotter fashion inverted hardtop, strapped down to roof rails and set off back home at a suitable speed ...read normal. Q? have I set a new world record for a Wagon with the largest roof spoiler
PS got some uber funny looks from other drivers...

Thank you, Gents.
It's odd, you know. I think I have a real world problem with the little Subaru...I love the bloody thing! The car's covered 67,000 from new, I'm the 3rd owner, it cost me only £1400 and was bought as a winter stop gap/run around some 18mths ago. Yet, I can not see myself selling it...the car's bloody marvelous. I've changed a few things...brakes, cambelt & pulleys, properly serviced et al. It starts every time. Trundles along all day long and as we all know is something 'special' in winter conditions. I bought a set of spare wheels with winter Khumo tyres and it's superb in the snow. So, my reason for illogical passion for the Snotter [read Snowbaru] is that it's costs next to nothing to run and does everything asked of it; and more as the photo' above shows. I'm taking it to the Alpes in July...will load up the camping gear and mountain bikes...and 'frapper la route en france'.
Really, I read with horror the amount of money some folk spend on their piles of modern day junk and quietly wonder what the fk are they doing? Particularly those unwise folk who borrow money and/or PCP their cars. For what? To have the latest model? They're completely mad. Happy Subaru'ing to one and all...

It's called more money than sense or in some cases more credit than sense. I take it you have another car?
I do, but it's a classic that I'm dropping a V8 into. The Subaru is now my only main car, bought as a stop gap after having company cars and much more expensive privately owned cars for the past 25 years. Plus, it's the second lowest price I've ever paid for a car. The lowest being £500 for my very first car back in 1764[?!] But this is the point, I've bought a brilliant runaround for near to PH shed money. It's clean, tidy, presentable and does a wonderful job. I have been questioned by some colleagues who don't understand why I'm not running something newer and more sporty...the answer is I don't need to. Even had some colleagues who have XKR's. I've driven these and whilst they are very good, and I am tempted, they simply can not do what the little Impreza Wagon can do...
if you had something on the lines of XKR costs and went down to get your roof...
what would have happened when you figured out it wouldnt fit...
whist you wagon, whilst being nice and you like it.. you not so worried about a bit more texture on the paint work from strapping the roof on there...
A VAG S-something or whatever I guess would have left you without a roof for the MG.
I love my wagon... more so now Iv done the suspension.. I think i will post about that in a day or so
