Can you buy wheel arch repair kits or is it full rear quarter panel only?

From what I gather there's no point repairing the arches unless it is a whole rear quarter replacement, as the rust will just come back. Once I have the means I'll go for a complete replacement/permanent repair and get a full body respray done at the same time. Probably £3k+ on a £2k car...makes perfect sense! laugh

Ahh but where are you getting your rear 3/4 panels from?!

You're right, very difficult to get rid of the rust properly frown I've always got my eye out for recent import Imprezas in the hope of getting vgc panels, trouble is always buying unseen.

I've even spoke to a couple of people about getting new panels made to sell. Serious money though...and possibly a limited audience willing to spend the money required.

Took mine to a proper old school body shop. Cut out the rust back to good metal, fabricate, shape and weld in new metal and painted.

Spend good money with a good shop and it is as good as new.

How long since you had the work done? No further bubbling? An indication of cost would be most appreciated.

Work done in the last 6 months. Yes I know bubbling might come back eventually, the waxoyl treatment it had after replacement will certainly help there. It's as good a repair as would have been done had there been in for accident repair - back of the car off and done properly with new steel.

If I can figure out this photo hosting malarky I'll put some pics up this weekend.

To be fair I got the job done cheap as I'm also paying the same garage lots of £s for the work they are doing on my 1975 TR6, so £300 all in both sides. Should have been double that IMO.

I'm actually a different poster to the chap above but thought I'd share my pics of similar work (for which I paid a lot more than £300).

I'm very happy with the end result. We'll see how long it lasts.

Very sorry! Wasn't paying attention! I was slightly confused as didn't think the UK Turbo (owned by the other poster) was offered in white.

Apologies for the necropost, but I'd be very interested to know how long these repairs lasted if anyone is still around..?
