Hi
Looking for a bit of advice. Looks like I need to replace one of the rear shocks on my 04 WRX wagon, so I was considering taking the opportunity to change at least both the rear ones (obviously) or possibly change them all.
Being relatively new I don't know much about....anything, really, so I wondered if anyone could recommend any particular makes? not looking for anything too hardcore as the car is used for a variety of purposes. Need to be fairly compliant at low speed as well as a little more supportive when one is....pressing on. You understand, I'm sure.
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks!

I replaced the shocks on my Impreza with these about two and half years ago and they are still working well

Are the shocks for the blobeye and hawkeye still on licence to Subsru, or can KYB sell then direct now?
They are not branded as Subaru replacements but there are ways of getting them. I was looking a while back and found a company that could have supplied them for me but cant for the life of me remember where it was now. When i get half an hour i will see if i can find the company that were selling them. After a bit of a search i found these:

They are showing out of stock but there are suppliers out there;)

They will fail again of you replace with oem ones so perhaps now is a good chance to see what else is out there.
With mine, if anything breaks I'm trying to improve it and against oem pricing and dealers you will likely save money too.
That is a potential issue and when i was looking i had my concerns about this so I ended up buying coilovers which was a big mistake, they are useless and painful on a road car. It turned out I was ill advised by a so called specialist to replace the shocks as they had failed but it turned out it was simply the boot lock rattling and not the shocks. I ended up going back to the standard shocks with the eibach springs and peace was returned to my journeys!!With mine, if anything breaks I'm trying to improve it and against oem pricing and dealers you will likely save money too.
Some things are best left as the factory intended.
just changed the rear 2 to KYB's yesterday, as the rear left was knocking.. got them from Camskill.
also have the fronts to change.. but garage didnt have time to do all the front end work I wanted so we aggreed to do at next service.
for the non wagons.. there KYB has SR and ultra's available.. these are apparently a upgrade on the standard, I forget which is the better model. Scoobynet has loads of threads talking about these
