Single or twin-plate clutch?
Discussion
Evening chaps. Looking for some opinions... I'm just about to fit a 6-spd box and new turbo (RCM450 if anyone's interested) to my P1, hopefully taking power/torque from 370/350 to 450/500-ish.
To the techie people on here, should I go for a twin-plate clutch? Cost difference is not huge but I'm wondering if the extra £750 or so is overkill on a road car with the odd track day?

Ran my P1 at 450bhp/370 ft lb or torque for over 18k miles on the same single plate AP racing organic single plate that I originally had with my 2litre 5 speed DCCD even though I went 6 speed DCCD / 2.1 later. I had one of the early RCM forerunners of the RCM 450 ( 2003)
Not a drag fiend but several track days in there.
It's still working fine now but is coming out as the 2.35 gt 35 would eat it.

We ran a Sachs Organic clutch in our 500bhp daily driver RB5 without issue (fitted with 6 speed box). This car also did multiple drag strip events without suffering any issues (a friend ran the same same clutch in his 580bhp Hawkeye, again without issue), so you might want to consider one of those.

What happened to RB5 #190? I used to read RB5oc and remember it well Yep I am - and you're Ian unless I'm mistaken? I use the same name across most sites- and I'm actually not that rotund at 6'2" and 17 stone - well ok I could maybe lose an ounce or two .
Former rugby player and was given the name many many years ago when I was still very fit - in a similar contradictory manner to the way Little John of Robin Hood fame was christened.
