Looking at a 300 bhp impretza to track day just wondering how reliable they are ? And if there is anything specific to look out for on a 1995 model

can you be more specific eg which model and what mods and supporting mods have been carried out to achieve that power? It would be a big hike in power for a uk car but the jdm sti were putting out 260/280 in 95 from memory.

It is a uk one the only but on the performance they have is all new tyres on,new brake discs and pads, new front cv joints, big intercooler and induction kit boosts 0.9 bar and pushes around 290bhp,interior is in good condition for the year, straight exhaust, all the mots since new,

I'm happy to stand corrected but I think new turbo and injectors etc would be required for that sort of power. As for reliability there are too many variables such as, mileage, condition, service history etc to make a decision on reliabilty on what is now an old car. Good luck if you go for it but buy with yours eyes open.

From memory 300 bhp was considered the threshold for a classic impreza to be reliable but trackdays are another matter. I had a 95 and a 96 reg impreza, both were great but low mileage, jap import and some time ago

Get an impreza as your every day car - problem solved!

I have been doing it for 10 years although don't do too many miles
