Hi,
I was reading the manual while doris was having her hair done the other day, and I read that there is another dipstick just behind the TMIC which is for the gearbox oil level. Sure enough, on inspection it was there and curiosity got the better of me , so I pulled it out. Apart from being as bit of a bugger to get back in, the level was fine.

Does this need to be checked regularly?, or is it purely used for servicing matters?.

It's where you put the oil in when you're changing it, the dipstick just let's you know that you've put enough in. It shouldn't drop unless you've got a leak.
