Did Subaru nake a 2 door type R with a roof flap?
Discussion
Thanks for that,
So if the the transmission code and ratios are:
1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th R TR FD Centre Diff
TY752VB5BA 3.083 2.062 1.545 1.151 0.825 3.416 1.000 4.444 Viscous (4kgf)
What would be the top end speed? and does Viscous mean that the diff is the type that is adjustable by the switch/wheel in the centre consol?

There were only 3 versions of the Type R which had the roof vent as standard.
MY98 WRX Type R V-Limited. This had the TY752 non DCCD box.
MY99 STi Type R Limited. This had the TY754 box with DCCD.
MY00 STi Type R Limited. This had the TY754 box with DCCD.
All were 74f blue & all had factory fitted roof vent.

From having a wee look the wrx type r v limited seems to have a decent top speed 130 to 140ish. It may be limited to 112mph (as all jdm imports are).
To be sure ask on 22b.com
Oh, they are rare cars nowadays. As for changing the box it's straight forward as long as you have a matching rear diff. but i don't think you would need to go down this route.
johnny.

Ok so the numbers on the:
Model GC8E27D
Transmission TY752VB5BA
Engine Type EJ20KDW6HE
Does this help identify the car?
As my previous reply. The info indicates an MY98 WRX Type R V-Limited. Not the STi versionModel GC8E27D
Transmission TY752VB5BA
Engine Type EJ20KDW6HE
Does this help identify the car?
This is a bad low res version of the brochure for the car http://www.type-ra.com/pdf/version4.pdf
There is a better one on the RA site along with the press release for the car.

I've owned a WRX Type R V-Ltd for the past 4 years. Brilliant car
No DCCD - ABS instead, which I prefer for UK roads.
I think you'll find the 'box has a longer legged 5th (same as RA?)
