2006 legacy estate exhaust
Discussion
I had exactly the same problems when I bought my Outback. The exhaust was removed and the Y piece repaired for 70 quid. The exhaust still looks rusty but it wasn't blowing so didn't require replacement. I bought a new indicator lens for 83 quid from a dealer, I'm sure you could get one from a breaker for much less though.
word of warning, exhausts are big bucks from a dealer, and there doesnt seem to me any pattern parts available so the only options are buy OEM (at around £1300) or get one fabbed up by an aftermarket specialist.
Welding might sort short term but is a ticking time bomb as to when it finally goes. The Y-joint is the weakest point on the system and usually goes first.

The Y section rotted on my 05 this year - I was recommended to www.longlife.co.uk who sorted it for me for £399 for a s/s cat back - inc fitting and vat.
Just heard from the dealer, following their workshop inspection, they have now declined to sell on a retail basis, they will put it in the auction. I'm not sure why?
I may be able to find out and make them an offer?
Are there any non obvious major faults?
How can you check error codes?
What sort of cost are the rear silencers?
Thanks
