Try Ian Godney at GodSpeed. They have their own tried and tested combinations, and they manufacture/cut rotors on site. They do a decent set of Kevlar pads at very reasonable prices which get very good comments from customers.
Second vote for Godspeed. I have the 335mm conversion which fits (just) under 17s! Good stopping power.Just to add to what Arthur posted, good quality brake fluid is a must.
If you're mostly on UK roads a good quality DOT5.1 fluid is plenty good enough. Don't use DOT5 as that is silicone based and won't mix with normal brake fluid. If you're doing track days or like a regular hard B-Road hoon then Motul RBF660 is pretty good stuff and highly recommended.
Empty/flush out your old brake fluid/system with a cheap DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid so your system is nice and clean, then empty out the flushing fluid and replace with the good stuff.
It's a bit like dropping the old engine oil out of your car, flushing through with the cheapest mineral oil you can find, then emptying that and refilling with your usual choice of oil. Same deal.
Add braided brake hoses which for the money is a really good mod and you're away.
If you can, try and find yourself a brake servo anti-flex bracket, you can buy them on eBay or scooby parts specialists. This stops any of the bulkhead flex you normally get when using your brakes hard and really firms the pedal feel right up and stops all that servo/bulkhead flex.
I know some chaps with classics that really swear by them bigtime. Worthy mod.
