Been on ebay twice now recently. Sounds nice. HPI says it has 11 former owners and the latest one has only had it 2 months.

Worth a look or don't touch with a 12ft pole?

Overall it looks good and i have to say worth £2300-2500. If it drives as good as it looks, and what with the decent suspension and remap upgrade i wouldn't haggle too much. Additionally, if got £100-£200 quid off the sticker price i'd be a happy man.

Just need to make sure there is no piston slap as some will suffer from this, even 02 cars and certainly with this mileage, but it's not a massive big worry as they can drive like this for ever. Listen out for bottom end rattle between 2500-3000rpm. The way these WRX wagons are going, and one that's nicely specced up like this i would get along to see it and if it drives well snap it up!!

I love my black WRX bugeye wagon, it's undergone some major mechanical changes but i'd never part with it.

The fact that the current owner is selling after only 2 months concerns me a lot.
Am I simply beng paranoid?

I'm usually very strict on buying cars with how long the owner has had it, however I'm currently selling my car after only 3 months due to change in circumstances (Moving into a city and underestimated how horrible it would be sitting in traffic everyday) so the car has to go, even though its superb.

I guess from now on I won't let this put me off, if its a good deal and drives well I guess that's what matters most!

Although with regards to that particular car, I've never heard of anyone owning a wagon for 2 months and then wanting to change to the saloon... confused

Guy seems genuine and is apparently happy for any inspection...

I can't see anywhere on the advert the owner has had it such a short time.

Chap wants to try out a 4dr car, blimey why not.

Grass isn't always greener but then it might suit him better as he has already suggested, he doesn't need the space any more because kids are older.

I'd be ringing the owner and asking some pertinent questions. If he answers those to your satisfaction then fly up there on the backs of winged horses!!

HPI check stated it. But I agree, if its a good motor that seems a cracking deal!

HPI is clean but he is the 11th owner and purchased in November last year. Seems a very short time to own something and have the ad state 'kids have grown up so no longer need a wagon'... Maybe I am just being paranoid in my old age...

For me. The short ownership would make me think but when you said 11 owners, nah. Too many

Sometimes you've got to take a chance, and without calling the seller you're really never going to know for sure what's what.

I'll admit though 11 owners is just about 1 a year but these days people change their cars like they do underpants.

Scoobs are thirsty devils at times and that doesn't go down well with a lot of people these days. Scoobs seem very reasonable money to buy but they do suck fuel.

It needs ideally checking out by someone that knows Subaru, perhaps you take them up and the time you're going to check the car out. They'll know what to look out for and whether or not it's a good buy or better to walk away.

I still like the ebay car, and spoke to the owner via SMS and email, as well as contacting him on Scoobynet. Seems like a decent guy. As it happens, he's changed his mind and decided to keep the car so the whole thing becomes null and void really.

Back to the drawing board.

11 Owners is not impossible, but rather worrying in that respect!
These cars do change hands quickly, due to what Francis mentioned, but it's very strange that 11 owners have kept it for one year lol.
However, never let anything put you off, till you've seen it in the flesh!! Could be totally gen, and a bargain!

I thought the car desipite a couple of back of the mind niggles was pretty honest and the owner has changed his mind and decided to keep it. Don't blame him really, looks a goodun. smile
