2006 Legacy Spec B, High Clutch Problem.
Discussion
We have owned my wife's car for about 3 months, a 3.0 6 speed manual Spec B. The clutch has alway been quite high, and it was at the last service (Suburu) clutch wear was noted.
Anyway we got the clutch replaced recently at big expense, but it still seems very high.
It starts to bite lower down, but it is still slipping and does not fully engage until high up on the pedal travel.
Whenever we make low speed turning or parking manoeuvres you can smell the clutch burning.
Anyway Ive got it booked in to have a look at in the new year and I plan not to use much in the mean time.
A bit of googling shows many and varied clutch problem. But a bit about the CDV and dampener sounds interesting and could possibly along the right lines.
Does anyone here know better, or could steer me in the direction of some good info.
Thanks.

Its a trait of the car I am afraid! Great when pushing on but not so great when manouvering or in slow moving traffic.
The old man who had my car prior to me must have nearly killed the clutch before I brought it as it was pretty worn when I brought it at 43K and had to be replaced at 60K.. I imagine he struggled with the high biting point.
If your car is a pre facelift model (<06') without avcs on the exhaust cam and revised port design, it is even worse as the jerky power delivery below 2.5k doesn't help.
I have had mine 2 and a half years and still mangage to slip the clutch occasionally, but you learn to deal with it.
