As the post says. I have been looking for a while at buying a wrx and there are two for sale quite near me. Both are bugeyes from 2002 and 2000 respectively.

This one has done 84k, FSH and the seller said that he would put it through an mot for a sale:

This one is more expensive but has only done 42k and also has a fsh:

I am only looking for a standard car for insurance etc. What do you guys think about these cars?

Thanks

out of the two of them it would be that one for me - one owner, half the miles and sounds pretty much ready to go smile

other one has dents, low tyre tread and an undisclosed amount of owners.

Ask to see bills to back up service history as anyone can get a book stamped up these days

take someone with you who knows cars and dont forget an HPI !! smile

I'd be going for the Yreg in Glasgow. 42K miles is very low mileage and i expect the car to be in tiptop condition despite the age. FSH as well, brilliant.

Unmolested WRX's like that are few and far between, and if it's in as good condition as i reckon it may be then i'd be biting his arm off, despite the colour. I hate that particular green though for an Impreza, sorry, but it looks a good car.

Anyway, offer the man £2500, and after a bit of haggling hopefully you'll settle on around £2700-£2800 if you waive pound notes under his nose. Would be a good buy at that price.

Nice one!!

Just back from seeing the car. not a lot of haggling but got the car for 2600. It is a minter, not my ideal colour but a but of brirush racing green never goes amiss!

Just need to get it insured and the money transferred, do the checks and ill pick it up later this week.

Woke up excited then realised that i hadnt done a previous mot check. the car did fail an mot a couple of years ago for a worn windscreen wiper. the obly blemish. picking it up tomorrow afternoob. might just take the long way back.

Just a wee question, is it super unleaded or will 'normal' petrol do? I know my rx8 was fine to run on the normal stuff.

Thanks

Bloody hell, that was a condusing slog through the 4 pages! Shell v power it is then, got a shell just down the road. do morrisons have super or should i stay away from them?

Honestly, why would you use 95ron to save money and have an impreza in the first place?

There are issues using 95. However, as I state in my posts - I used it for 44K miles in a WRX PPP and was fine. However, in my STi I always used good stuff.
