Top mount bolts
Discussion
Guys. Need some assistance in a size.
I was gona start my strut swap over, however one of the rear passenger end top strut bolts(it. Has 3) sheared.
I know these are press fitted in.
Rather than buy a new top mount, I'd rather get the same nut and bolt, drill the other one out, bang the new one in.
Obviously when I get it all off I will see its size, but won't have a car to go and fetch the bolt.lol
So a size or steer in the right direction would be a big help guys.
It's a 2005/55 wrx wagon.
Cheers

My guess is it may be an M10 x 1.25 bolt. How long is another matter. You'll have to do some measuring. It's a very widely used size of nut/bolt combination in many different lengths in a Subaru.
Your best bet would be to weld the bolt to the top mount if you can so it sits there just like the other studs otherwise it will need two of you to do the job.

Francis, I was reading a US site, appears its an M8, but that's as far as it goes. Maybe gona have to get it off first, however will take the sheared section down to the ironmongers and get a selection anyway, hopefully strike lucky. I will get my old man to help me, don't have access to a welding machine.
Cheers for the input.

Although M8 is quite a slim bolt i've not come across anyone that's had one sheer off a top mount by itself, normally it sheers when it's being overtightened...lol.. We're all guilty of that.
A workshop manual will give you the right torque settings for tightening those nuts.
Good luck with that.
