2002 Impreza 2.0 GX Wagon advice please

I have been offered the above car with 99k miles with FSH upto 78k miles for what appears to be a very good car. Sorely tempted to buy the car this w/e and use as a winter run-around. The car is in VERY good condition but I have yet to complete full mechanical check/take for test drive.
With this in mind could I tap into the PH Subaru knowledge base and ask if their are specific areas I should be looking at/things that could go horribly wrong?

Not qualified to give mechanical advice, but we have the same model/year (but saloon) as our family everyday car. We bought at about 90,000 miles, up to 130,000 now.
Covered in supermarket trolley & car park dings, but only work I can recall beyond on-the-button servicing was a replacement clutch, one new bulb and a battery. Well engineered, breathless beyond about 65mph, but been a great car for us.
