I've been and looked at a Sept 2007 WRX today with 24k on the clock. Its completely standard and has had two services from Subaru dealers, and another 2 from an Independent dealership. Is there any weak points or anything particular I should be checking for?

I asked about the cambelt and the guy said its not due until 66k, and there is no age at which it should be replaced...which I find hard to believe.

What sort of fuel economy should I expect? Ideally looking for 30mpg on a run and mid 20's when driving steadily on A/B roads.

One final question, the clutch seemed (very) slightly stiff, is this normal?!

Apologies for all the questions, just want to know the score before I part with my cash.

Don't believe the no age thing, thsts rubbish!

The ones I tested and my own do have firm clutch pedals in comparison to other normal cars. smile

It's due a cambelt - they're 5 years/50k miles.

30MPG is pretty easy to achieve on a run, providing you don't boot it. Cambelt is age or mileage - so he is talking rubbish. Clutches are heavy on these cars, but you will get used to it...

Agreed, 30mpg is easy to achieve, I've had 35mpg, then again i do sit @ 56-60 on the motorway for 50 miles. Mainly due to the traffic, although i find its a lot less of a stressful commute at that speed smile
