Forester diesel will be on the drive next week. Views?

I'm looking forward to taking delivery of my new shape forester next week and finally taken the plunge to try out a diesel boxer. I'm having it remapped to 180. Xc spec seemed to be best value as used buy and carstins Subaru reckon they sell more of these than any other spec. Anyone else had any experience of these? Any other mods to think about?
Same as with any other modern diesel before remap.
Completely remove DPF or remove Monolith inside DPF (if you have one) and have this ECU function switched off through the mapping. These things are the single most cause of all sorts of running issues with many different modern diesels many miles down the line. PITA!!
Blank off EGR valves. (These are only there for emissions purposes on cold startup)
You don't have to completely decat but i know with quite a few other diesels you can get some very nice stainless steel exhaust systems, by the usual suspects.
Alternatively, leave the main cats in place as the tester may fail the vehicle if he can't see the cats and it's meant to have one/two/whatever number, however, emissions testing on diesels is still a visual test only so if there is very little smoke on revving there is no issue and therefore it will pass.
If your motor is brand spanking new though you get 3yrs grace anyway before needing to secure an MOT test pass.
You're not after out and out bhp numbers with diesels, torque is the no.1 consideration here. How much extra torque are you going to get?
ETA: Don't forget to fit a performance direct replacement air filter!!
