Discussion
dont know whether its just me but my bug STi brakes dont seem to be as good as i was expecting them to be so can anyone recommend a decent upgrade ref pads/discs?
been in for a service and cambelt recently so i know theres nothing wrong with the brakes as i asked them to check them out
mind you i thought the brakes were crap on my wrx i had before this so maybe its me!

Whats wrong with them? Is it a certain feel you are after, like initial bite? Or a lack of pure braking force?
I uprated to AP 6pots after a high speed braking incident, (that no-brake-feel!) and have never looked back. Although now I have all the force in the world, bite is more related to the pads. Racing pads are much more abrasive, so they ware down more quickly.. I still prefer them for the road.
your Sti callipers should be ok - have you tried performance friction pads before?

they just dont seem to have much of a feel about them if you get what i mean. it stops ok but having had experience of 4 pots before on track which were awesome, these arent. mind you my previous WRX had the same feel about them as well, maybe its my driving/braking style!
yes ive got experience of the likes of DS3000's on my race cars ive had before but those pads will be no good for the road as cant get enough heat in them between each use,and i wont be using the Scoob on track.
think ill try braided lines, fluid change and some decent pads and see what happens.
