Hi all

My power steering pump is on its way out, the weird feeling through the steering wheel when you turn is getting dull now.

Apparently they are epically expensive, so could anyone tell me if this is the right part for a direct working replacement?

Get a used one from Grade A Subaru in Chesterfield. They are a specialist Subaru breaker.

It could be you have a leak from the steering rack, or power steering pipes. Alternatively the pump might be faulty, ahve a leak or just worn out. I'd check first before you go buying a pump when it might not be that.

Been told by Subaru it is knackered but not dead enough to replace. However, it's getting worse.

Think I need to get a new one!

In that case it's arm and a leg time from a main stealership. I've no idea where to get an after market replacement.

What he just said,

P1 is just a standard V5/6 STI engine. It shares the pump with the UK cars of the same age.
