Hawkeye Spec C suspension
Discussion
Anyone know whether the Spec C hawkeye Imprezas had different suspension to the UK STI other than the rear anti roll bar? I know the Spec C Type RA-R had adjustable shocks and uprated springs, but what about the 'regular' Spec C, would shocks and springs off one of these be an upgrade for my Spec D?
Thanks
Thanks
Yep, not too bad and tempted just to re-grease them but if I could upgrade and re-grease the new ones and simply swap them it would be better, would also quite like the car sitting slightly lower. There's a second hand set (off a spec c) on ebay at the mo but they look the same as mine and can't find anything online to say if they were any different.
You can just do the white lithium grease trick (spray on exposed shock). This worked for me for 6K or so miles.
I put Tein coil-overs on mine which lowered the car by 1 inch all round. At the time I thought they were fine from a ride point of view, however, in hindsight they were a bit crashy on some roads.

I think the shocks are only slightly different in their "jetting" and if you used your old springs would hardly notice the difference IMHO
The Spec C rear springs might not be much lower than a UK, I'd be tempted to put on a set of Prodrive springs "Pink" IIRC or Pro-R. £50 job turns into £400 LOL
Eibach used to make one set for all newage impreza's but Prodrive and Pro-R make one for WRX and one for WRX due to the diffrence in frontend weights 6speed DCCD box much heavier IIRC
