Is this a good WRX for the money?
Discussion
Hello Scooby types,
My daily car's a 991 /996 and I rack up 2,500 miles a month which is causing depreciation so I'm looking at something lively and (relatively) inexpensive. To that end, I'm test drivng this one later today:

Is this a good buy do you think? I don't know anything about Scooby's yet but I like the look of 'em on You Tube! If I can get 30mpg on the motorway then that's probably convince me.
Thank you in advance for any replies

Hi Mate.
I had a 53 WRX when new, in that colour actually. Mine had a remap to 270bhp. Fuel consumption from what i remember was terrible mate, lol, and thats why i sold it on. However was doing a lot of mileage back in those days.
But for a day to day run about, motorway and B road blasts, the WRX is the best bet in my eyes. STI also worth a consideration, but slightly heavier priced and a bit more bone crushing on the road as a daily driver.
That looks slightly over priced to me mate, not by much, however there are plenty of these about the now mate if your willing to travel for a purchase.
I actually just put a deposit down on one 2 days ago mate, mine will also be used as a run about, as i am hopefully buying a Porsche Cayman in the next month. I paid 5k for mine, wagon, 05 with 38k and Full history. I seen one in Scotland for sale, its on PHs, silver with PPP and low miles, 26k i think, and it was sensibly priced and i would defo have given it consideration.

Way too expensive for the mileage... FWIW, I used a WRX PPP for 2 years for work and racked up 45K miles. Really enjoyed it and made work travelling fun ... Make sure you get the PPP, or get it remapped as the WRX feels much better with the additional 40bhp and torque...
Perhaps buy private and save some cash. They are reliable enough, so a dealer warrantee is not a must...

30MPG is easy providing you stick below 80 (I got that all the time). You should be able to get an 05 car with the nicer interior for that money. The silver dials look so much better than the old Skool black ones...
I traded in my WRX PPP two years ago with 44K on the clock for 5.5K...
Also, don't get an STi as a mile muncher, tried that myself and ended up buying another car for work miles...
