I'm thinking of getting a sports downpipe. Hear its a good way of getting a bit more power for not too much dosh. There seems to be an extremely limited amount of choice for a 2011 WRX STI saloon, so was wondering if a previous model of Impreza will fit, thus broadening my choices.

Cheers all!

Have you thought about the warrantee implications of pulling such a new car about?

+1 ^^^^ What he sad about the warranty.

Keep the warranty intact and go for a main dealer supplied upgrade or leave it as it is till your warranty has expired.

You should still be able to get some increase in performance with just a remap and without making a physical change so the main dealer doesn't detect anything however, the small increase in performance isn't worth it for what you will pay for a remap.

Not wanting to panic you, but there have been a number of problems with the hatch engine in the STi, which may have been carried over. Therefore, I would not do anything whilst in warrantee, unless as Francis says, it's a Subaru approved part.

Was going to ask about the remap actually.

I have had difficulty trying to find out if the pro drive remap can indeed be remapped again. Pro drive dont actually do it, they say speak to the dealer. Then the dealer doesn't have a clue they say speak to international motors in Birmingham (their accessory dept). They don't know either. So now I have a remap that no one claims they did.

Anyway assuming its not locked or the ECU has been completely replaced. Can a remap be easily changed?

Pro-R are the official tuning arm of Subaru UK now rather than Prodrive. Maybe speak to them

They offer one package which is very similar to the PPP of old. They are even charging more or less the same as PPP of old. It is just a couple of bolt-ons and a quick flash, no different to PPP one size fits all.

They don't even mention the words remap, remapping, recalibrate or anythying else of that description.

They sell lots of nice shiny bolt-ons, car-care products and taht's about it. I'd love to know how this lot become the official Subaru performance package provider.

You can understand how and why Prodrive became the official provider but i'm confused about Pro-R.

It's like you may as well have got Halfords to do it. At least they've been around a while. hehe

Because perhaps prodrive could see the writing on the wall when they bailed out of WRC and released the hatch hehe

+1 their Facebook page is odd too, they went through a stage of posting images of " stanced " Impreza's ridiculous camber and stretched tyres. How did they manage to get the job??
