TD05 & V4 Ecu into a Classic '94 Wagon
Discussion
Are these just a straight swap for the td04 and I4 ecu that mine came with ?
Seems to be a minefield of information on scoobynet and similar with no definative answer as to wether any other bits need changing at the same time.
It seems the best upgrade route with a daughterboard tagged onto the v4 and a remap by one of the chaps that frequent here

No the plugs on the ECU's are different.
Best bet on the early cars is to find an Apexi Power FC, like this one

The seller is a good chap too.

You'll be able to get an ESL/Daughterboard remap solution (Full Custom real-time remap) for your ECU when you fit a TD05 16G, and no doubt you would want to run some 440cc injectors so you're fuelling sufficiently, and a 1.78bar map sensor from a V3 or V4 Impreza to stop boost cutting when you're making over 1.2bar boost otherwise there's no point in fitting the TD05.
Z4 ECU is fine if you run exactly the same original setup as the WRX it originally comes from otherwise remap really is the way to do this.

Thanks for the info.
What I was trying to do is start off by getting the power up to the saloon models of the same age.
From what I can see/read the only differences where the ecu and the turbo, both are available for a total of less than £200 so it seemed like a no brainer to just swap them over ?

Unfortunately the top hose decided to spring a leak at the weekend so cooling system needs some work before I go after a bit more power.
Block tester came up negative but seems to build up a lot of pressure in the system when on boost so might be doing the headgaskets shortly !
