Brake upgrade - UK 1998 WRX
Discussion
Hi there, just wondering if anyone has any comments on a suitable upgrade for the brakes on a 1998 UK WRX. I believe the rears are a "slider" type.....but thinking of Brembo 4 pots on front....would this make a difference...i currently have standard size but Tarox front discs and better pads so would there be a big advantage in changing from 2 pots to the 4 pots??......i'm thinking of some track day use and have also just read the posts about overheating/fading brakes so now not sure if i should just stick with whats on it!!!.......thanks for any comments

If you have 2 pots on the front then yes upgrading to 4 pots would make a difference. The discs are bigger and would give you more stopping power. However many people have reported fade with 4 pots when running OEM discs and pads, so if you are doing track days it would be best to upgrade them.
No fade as yet but then i have not really pushed them!!.....only had the car a few weeks so just working out what to do.......i have owned 4 Scoobies in the past but all STI's and then i still suffered brake fade/overheating so wonder as i said if the tarox discs i have already would be as good.....may be book a track day and find out is one option:-).......brakes being inspected this weekend for wear and tear etc....
