Folks, trying to get some definitive info on the standard power outputs of the STi wagons. I'm reasonably clear that the early cars V1/2/maybe3 had reduced power in comparison to the 4 door STi cars however am finding conflicting info on the later ones. Some sources quote the V5/6 wagons as 240ps and others as 280ps; does anyone have the real answer? Also, if the later wagons did have reduced outputs were there any mechanical differences under the bonnet in comparison to the 280ps engines or is it simply a variation in state of tune and would the outputs be the same after a remap?

I believe the Sti wagons had the same power output as the Sti saloons, it was the non Sti wagons that had lesser outputs.

the version 1 sti wagon has a lower output than the later cars, can be anywhere between 240-260, but no difference between wagon or saloon of the same year.

The V2 STI 'Wagon had a lower output than the Saloon model. It used a standard WRX Saloon engine, turbo and ECU (TD05 & Z4) giving 260PS. The then current 'Wagon with a smaller TD04 was rated at 220PS.

From memory the 1994 limited production STI models were both rated at 250PS, over the standard Saloon and SportsWagons 240PS and 220PS respectively.

Remember that Subaru didnt use 'version' numbers until the STI V2, which was actually the third offering, after the 1994 altered production STI and the 1995 altered production STI Type-RA (275PS).
