Looking at coilovers for my Blob Eye STI the BC series seem to read well for the price. Is anyone running these and would you recommend. Many thanks Roy

I think adage of you pay for what you get has never been truer when discussing dampers IMO.

Big question is why you want them?

I run a set, can't fault them & they've been on for two years.

The person I bought the car off just put shorter uprated springs and the handling is rubbish also I don't have a big budget to sort.

I had lowering springs on my Evo when I bought it on Ralliart dampers - very similar to the standard later Bilsteins. They were certainly no better than the later MR set-up. The ride was fine on a very very smooth road, but utterly utterly awful down a b road. It hunted out cambers like nothing on earth, damping was poor, and mid corner it just wouldn't hold a line.

I swapped back to normal springs and the difference was a night and day improvement. I then went to some very expensive EXE-TC dampers which were better again, but not night and day better.

My advice to you is to forget about budget coil-overs and get yourself on the classified section of one of the scooby forums and buy a set of standard springs for peanuts. There are so many idiots favouring 'stance' over ride quality these days that you'll have no trouble picking up a bargain. Get them swapped over and get a fast road alignment done by someone who knows what they're doing; find your local rally prep outfit and ask what they advise.

I guarantee the car will be utterly transformed as a road car.

What springs are on the car OP? I've recently put Prodrive springs on my car and they've made a massive difference to the handling. Not overly stiff so that the ride is bone crunching, but Definately a massive improvement over the standard setup.

Thanks for the tip not sure what springs they are all I know is that they are green!!Love the car but it is just not as stable as other subaru's that I have owned

I have Tein Coilovers on my STi. Fantastic on track, however, the ride is quite hard on the road. For a weekend blaster I find it acceptable, but it would be wearing for a daily. What ever you do, make sure you get them set up properly.
