Talking to a US tourist and she told me she owns a Foz too but is amazed how few Subaru's that she has seen over here compared to back home in her State.
How come!
Cheaper fuel and more need for AWD. I noticed Subaru were heavily advertised on TV when I was there last year. It’s a huge market for them. How come!

Hard to imagine, when I can walk down my street on the roofs of Golf GTDs without touching the pavement.

I have the CVT 2.0 in a 2018 Forester XT. It works really well.
I could be convinced. Feels like the proper follow on to the Gen4 Legacy.![](https://res.cloudinary.com/carsguide/image/upload/f_auto,fl_lossy,q_auto,t_default/v1/editorial/subaru-levorg-sti-sport-tr-1200x800-%2812%29.jpg)
Anyway, back to pics - having left the car parked on its own, I came back to some company...

motorists in England are too spaced out on Audi, Golfs, BMWs and Mercs. Their loss! You can't move for new plate Mercedes A classes around my way. Most of them have the PSA engine looking at the spec on the boot..
My SpecB, never had a car for over 2 years and owned quite a few cars over the years, cant see myself getting rid of it any time soon, only a handful of these in the UK also so unlike the German cars you see at every other set of lights you have something with a bit more rarity.

Hi All,
This is my Uk turbo 2000. This is my childhood's dream car and I bought it last may. I bought it with a misfire, a very poor condition and dirty interior, the check engine light on, smoke coming out from the bonnet scoop...
It was a risky bet but the fact that the car was a 1 owner, had no rust and is fully original sold it for me! It also had quite a lot of service stamps except for the timing belt which hadn't been replaced since 2006![eek](/inc/images/eek.gif)
This is the first time I got the car home. Could not go on boost without it cutting and misfiring...

Immediately, I replaced the knock sensor which solved the CEL, found an air leak which solved the missfire and replaced the rocker cover gasket for the smoke. I also did the timing belt + thermostat and waterpump + spark plugs, oil service, fuel and air filtre.
I also started replacing suspension bushes and bolts. I am slowly taking suspension bits off, cleaning them (repainting them if necessary) and then putting everything back on to the correct torque spec with new fixings. A long but very satisfying process!
I also replaced the carpet, changed the front seats and cleaned the interior which had been neglected and put new floor mats.

It is not my daily driver and it is on less that 95000miles. I'm planning on keeping the car stock and enjoy it while slowly improving it (by that I mean, new oem parts, cleaning, repairing....not modifying). The only change I made is genuine gold wheels. They were an option at the time so not too far from original![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)
This is the car now. The bodywork is far from perfect (swirl marks, both bumpers with scratches) but no rust is sight so no need to sort it. I prefer to keep it like that so I'm not to scared of using the car on small B roads with stones flying
. If these are worth a lot if a few years, the full respray will be worth it then.
