Fixtures out this Friday.

Being newly promoted I'll be happy if Millwall can finish in the top half.

Who's going to be favourites to win it and be relegated?

Correct. Never thought I'd see the day when Blackpool would be back in the top league (I was 2 the last time we were there - '70/'71 season)

Probably be only a short visit, but we will enjoy it and hopefully the future and infrastructure of the club will be secure for a few years to come.

Just need to find some money so I can afford some of the away ticket prices.

Should be pretty tight this year. Forrest and QPR will be up there, none of the relegated teams look that strong and all 3 promoted sides shouldn't be too far off the pace.

Correct about the teams coming down. Hull and Portsmouth are in financial meltdown, and Burnley are running a tight ship so are not a team with big money players.

I think it will be a much tighter league this year. Don't think any team(s) will run away at the top. Forest, Leicester, Cardiff and only Burnley from the relegated teams will make the top 6.

It's going to be interesting now a character like Holloway is in the PL, I like his no nonsense down to earth 'take' on things and think he could upset a few bertie big bks clubs. He's a freind of Kenny Jackett by all accounts.

Back to the Championship. I can see the likes of Pompey dropping down again, that's if they are still in business. Have Palace sorted out their finances? I think Cardiff, Forest and Boro could be in the run for promotion and all the promoted teams will be knocking around mid table to the edge of the play-offs.

Palace were saved. Taken over by a small consortium I think. I've no idea what their financial strength is.

Preston could be interesting as well. Currently their major shareholder (Trevor Hemmings, started with about 28% of the shares) is attempting to take over the club, offering 5p per share. Has said he will withdraw support if not enough shareholders sell to him. He's been putting in about £400k per month for the last few months to keep them going, and they were issued a winding up order last month by HMRC. He has said he is only trying to stabilise the club and not bank role them and will look for other investors. I suppose Blackpool could buy them and use PNE as a feeder club laugh

Bookmarked for another year of disappointment as a Swansea City fan....

Leon Britton moved to Sheffield United - the backbone of our midfield gone!

I think we're still a few players short for the playoffs yet, but its still a long way to the start of the season. So far we've signed Kasper Schmicheal, Billy Paynter and Paul Connolly on free's but we still need another striker, left and centre midfielders, and a left back.

There's so many rumours about who we may be signing at the moment, 95% will be dross though.

I'm sure lots will be pleased to see us back hehewavey

I'm sure Leeds and Millwall will add a bit of spice to some fixtures on their travels, most clubs have their reasons for disliking us. Looking forward to my trip to Leeds again amongst other places, always good to pump the atmosphere up.

Another striker aye? Could the Paynter signing be a prelude to coaxing Austin away from Swindon?

I'm a Norwich fan and quietly optomistic for this season. We tore league 1 apart last year and scored goals for fun. I know it is quite a step up, but we seem to have got rid of a lot of dead wood and made some quality signings in the likes of Andrew Surman, John Ruddy and Simeon Jackson.

We have an excellent young manager, who one or way or another WILL manage in the prem in the next 3 - 5 years, the stadium will be up to 27,000 which will be full nearly every week, and we still have Delia...

I fancy us to finish top 10 this year. We seem to be one of the few teams to have signed more than 2 or 3 players. I think there is very little between all the teams in this league, Boro have signed a gem in Boyd, Forest still have Earnie, Cardiff so far have kept hold of Chopra and Whittingham, QPR snapped up Ambrose, but when i look at the list of teams in that league, theres very little to worry about.

Our first few fixtures are
Watford h (expect a win)
Scunny a (hopefully win)
Swansea h (tricky, would take a point)
Forest a (would defo take a point)
Barnsly h (win)
Doncaster a (difficult one, would take a point)

So looking at those fixtures i would expect us to be in the mix after those...

Good luck to your team for 10/11 unless your Ipswich in which case i hope Keano continues the brilliant work hes doing down there rofl

Millwall have made four signings to date including James Henry, today, from Reading. Reading fans didn't you rate him? from what I've seen he's a good signing.

We've started well with signings, picking up Kasper Schmichael and Billy Paynter. Also picked up Federico Besssone, Neil Collins, Paul Connolly, and Lloyd Sam. All on free's so Papa Smurf will be pleased, despite saying we had a "war chest" to improve the squad after not spending anything in the last transfer window.

However I still think we're still a player or 2 short of what we really need, ie a decent centre back since Kisnorbo is out til at least November IIRC, a holding midfielder and ideally another striker.

Not entirely confident at the moment but we will see how it goes

So far, things are looking worse and worse for Cardiff and i think its only a matter of time before we have to sell some of the top players!

Ledley going to Celtic meant we picked up a big fat zero!

The malaysians who came in last season seemed to have forgotten all about us, the managers been linked with numerous clubs around the country this summer, there is still big doubts over any money coming into the club and i can just see the same set of despondent players trying to play next season.

I think Boyd going to Boro will mean he'll score a shed load next season and i think they could be up there. Likewise Forest will be strong again and i think Coppell will work wonders at Bristol city next season and can see them challenging.

One things for sure, it'll be another very competitive year!
