I'd not heard many of these stories before

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/clm3...

I wonder how he'd have fared in the modern game.

"Carol his secretary said it was for a car, which I really wanted. It was a brand new BMW XR3i, a white one with a black soft top roof."

Interesting... but... BMW XR3i.....????

Almost word for word the routine Crossley did when he was speaking at an event I was at a few weeks ago. Bored me to tears if I'm totally honest,

He’d have been great - none of the expenses would have gone through the books, so we’d have breezed past financial fair play!

If you can find it the story of BC signing Dean Saunders is much funnier.

That's certainly a different side to old big head most of us wouldn't have known about.
Fair play to the whole Clough clan, just a shame he took their generosity and threw it in their faces

Clough was one of the few people that Roy Keane respected.

In Keane’s autobiographies, he only has a good word for Clough and Stuart Pearce. Oh, and Triggs.

Right there is why he never became England manager.

He would have been a terrible England manager.
He built relationships with players on a day to day basis, you can't do that when you only see them a few times a season.
